Ninja Gone Wild - Mechanics Notes

Skill Experience

For most skills each block on the progress bar represents 2 XP. Gaining skill XP will usually take specific training. Getting it from an instructor makes things easier, but improving a jutsu notably can grant XP for the underlying skill.

Rank Rating Number Number+ Number++
D 1 1 (0+3) 5 7
C 2 9 (3+6) 12 15
B 3 18 (9+9) 22 26
A 4 30 (18+12) 35 40
S 5 45 (30+15) 53 64

Jutsu Experience

For a jutsu XP comes through use and practice far more easily. Any 'straining' use can grant XP.

Chakra Reserves

At rank N use 4 N-rank techniques safely.
Each ranking is three times as much chakra as the previous. Thus each + adds the base reserve of current level again.
Elemental justu have a 'surcharge' which is independent of the normal cost and also costs four times previous level.

Rank Normal Cost Elemental Cost Affinity Cost Base Reserves
D 1 2 (1 +1) 1 4
C 3 (3*1) 10 (4*4 +2) 4 12
B 9 (3*3) 43 (4*10 +3) 16 36
A 27 (3*9) 176 (4*43 +4) 64 108
S 81 (3*27) 709 (4*176 +5) 256 324

Extra Skills

Some skills are rarely directly per se.

Kenjutsu is basically weapon mastery. Jutsu are either weapons/styles or weapon based usage. Adds bonuses which cost nearly nothing to use.

Elemental release gives access to new jutsu and cuts cost of appropriate elemental just by a lot.
